OUTDOOR CAMP DIRECTOR – SEASONAL
Description:
Direct outdoor day camp for children age 5-12. Outdoor activities
including nature identification, hiking, basketball, bowling and other
activities.
Requirements:
Education in recreation or outdoor education and at least three years
day camp work or related experience.
Develops and conducts
preliminary training for camp staff members covering over-all camp
programs and activities; assists Recreation staff in the planning and
communication of camp activities and relevant recreational sports such
as basketball, soccer, wiffleball; develops schedules for each week
covering daily activities and delegates responsibilities to each staff
member for the achievement of efficient operation of camp.
Responsible for
implementing established safety practices, controls; directs the
handling of emergency situations including the application of first aid,
ensures the preparation of required accident report; responsible for all
equipment and supplies issued to the camp. Responsible for safety and
care of all children.
Maintain effective
communication with Recreation staff, camp personnel and parents of
attendees; evaluates each staff member at end of program, maintains
appropriate data and submits an over-all evaluation of camp program at
end of season.
Starting pay range
is $12.00-$14.00 per hour.

Minimum Class
Requirements: Equivalent to high school diploma; two (2) years
college level courses in education and administration or two (2) years
experience in structured outdoor activities involving children and
juveniles; CPR and first aid certified.

Description: Attends
