Deerfield Township Deputies
Run
for Ohio Special Olympics June 4 & 5
24-Hour Marathon Running Event at Deerfield Township Kroger
Deerfield Township, OH — April 29, 2010 —
Deerfield Township deputies will be running non-stop June 4 and 5, but they
won’t be chasing the bad guys. They will chase the dream to make life better
for children with special needs.
Deputies from the Deerfield Post of the Warren County
Sheriff’s Office and other Warren County law enforcement officers will take
turns running on a treadmill in 30-minute increments for 24 straight hours
to raise funds for the Ohio Special Olympics.
The event is a precursor to the 2010 Law Enforcement Torch
Run, sponsored by the Kroger Company, June 19-25. The Torch Run is a series
of relay runs in which officers representing every facet of law enforcement
run or bicycle the torch through 130 communities around the state. The event
will take place around the state the weeks of June 19 - 25 and will
culminate in the Final Leg to the Opening Ceremonies of the State Summer
Games on June 25, 2010. The run will come through the Cincinnati area June
23rd and June 24th. For more information on the Special Olympics
and Torch Run, and a complete schedule, please visit
www.sooh.org.
So cheer on our brave men and women from 6 AM on June 4th
through 8 AM June 5th, at the Deerfield Township Arbor Square
Kroger at 5100 Terra Firma Drive. There will be a jar for donations for the
Ohio Special Olympics.
