Road Supervisor Jim Houston
Jim Houston has been employed by Deerfield Township for 14 years. He supervises a crew of six employees who maintain
106.91 miles of dedicated and undedicated right-of-ways along with fire
stations, cemeteries and office parking lots during each snow or ice event
throughout the Township, using eight (8) full-sized dump trucks with plows and
three (3) medium duty trucks with plows and 1,267 tons of salt. Jim also
manages the annual Road Maintenance Program, and the brush and leaf pick up
twice a year, (spring and fall) and the non-hazardous household item waste
disposal which dedicates two (2) days for completion. This requires 10 dumpsters
and five (5) department employees to complete.
Jim is also responsible for sign replacement, mowing, and
works closely with the Parks Director and Parks and Grounds Maintenance
Supervisor. Jim has been involved for many years with the Kings youth football
organization, Kings knothole, and in 1999 was named Manager of the Year. Jim can
