Post Commander
Michael Highley
Lieutenant
Michael Highley began his career with the Warren County Sheriff’s
Office in 1990 as an Emergency Police Officer. He attended and
graduated from the Montgomery County Police Academy in July 1992. He
was hired as a Deputy Sheriff in September 1992 and was assigned to
the Jail Section of the Sheriff’s Office.
In 1993 he was assigned to the
County Road Patrol Section patrolling Warren County. In 1995 he was
assigned to the Deerfield Township Post as a Road Deputy. After
serving his tour there he returned to County Road Patrol Duties.
Lieutenant Highley was promoted
to the rank of Sergeant at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in
1999. He served as County Road Supervisor until assuming the
position as Post Commander of South Lebanon in 2001. After serving
three years as Post Commander in South Lebanon he was assigned to
Deerfield Township as an Assistant Watch Commander for two years.
Lieutenant Highley was then
assigned to the County Road Patrol Section as the Relief Watch
Commander position in 2006. This assignment required assistance to
Road Patrol as well as managing special details for community events
which required Deputies to work off duty.
In February 2007 Lieutenant
Highley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. His duty assignment
was to the County Road Patrol Section of the Sheriff’s Office.
Lieutenant Highley graduated the
Police Executive Leadership College in March 2002. He has also
completed an extensive course through the Northwestern University
School of Police Staff and Command in March 2007. Lieutenant Highley
has attended many other training courses throughout his career at
the Sheriff’s Office.
Lieutenant Highley was assigned
to the Deerfield Township Post in May 2009.
Lieutenant Highley is a
lifelong resident of Warren County and lives in Clearcreek Township
with his wife.
