Trustee Romano called the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m. All members of the Board were present. Also present were Kristin Spiekerman, the Fiscal Officer, Dan Evers, Administrator and Tom Swope, Law Director.
Trustee Speidel led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Executive Session
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Speidel to enter executive session to discuss land acquisition. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to return to regular session. Motion carried unanimously.
Fiscal Officer – Kristin Spiekerman
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Resolution 2006-27 A Resolution Directing Payment of Township Expenses, Declaring an Emergency and Dispensing with the Second Reading. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Warrants #47810 through 47845. Motion carried unanimously.
Public Works – Larry Weis
Mr. Weis presented proposed changes to cemetery rules and regulations.
Mr. Weis presented proposed cemetery rate changes and an expansion plan.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to take a two minute break. Motion carried unanimously.

Community Development – Lois McKnight
Ms. McKnight presented the Deerfield Township Comprehensive Plan.
Ms. McKnight reviewed township policy and legal issues regarding temporary signs placed in right of ways.
Betsy Kelly, Assistant Director of Governmental Affairs of the Home Builders Association, spoke about the sign policy.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to take a break. Motion carried unanimously.

Fire Department – Deputy Fire Chief Mike Cardwell
Deputy Fire Chief Cardwell presented the proposed light rescue operational concept.
Deputy Fire Chief Cardwell presented the Assistance to Firefighters Grant.
Administration
The administrative building/offices topic was tabled for further information.
A discussion ensued regarding the meeting schedule.
