Regular Meeting
Trustee Romano called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. All members of the Board were present. Also present were Kristin Spiekerman, the Fiscal Officer, Dan Evers, Administrator and Tom Swope, Law Director
Executive Session
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to enter Executive Session to discuss property acquisition. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to return to regular session. Motion carried unanimously.
Trustee Speidel led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Public Comment
Faye Smith, 5474 Old Farm Drive, spoke about construction noise from the Woods of Wilkens.
Gene Curry, 80196 Baywood Court, spoke about the Schappacher Park retention pond project.
Bill Coffey, 3480 Ketch Court, spoke about the Schappacher Park retention pond project.
Robb Olsen, 8704 Charleston Woods, spoke about pathways in Deerfield Township.
Presentation
Stephanie Roberts and Fred Gossman, representing Cincinnati USA Partnership for Economic Development, gave a presentation aboout their organization.

A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve Resolution Number 2006-51 A Resolution Directing Payment of Township Expenses, Declaring an Emergency and Dispensing with the Second Reading. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve Super Blankets #20719-3 and 20759-2; Purchase Orders #10434-2 and 10585. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve Warrants #48481 through 48553. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to take a break. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to return to regular session. Motion carried unanimously.
Board Action – New Business
Parks
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to authorize Dan Evers, Township Administrator, to execute a contract with Duke Energy for the extension of underground electric at Cottell Park for the house, restroom and dumpster facilities at a cost of $8,070. Motion carried unanimously.
Administration
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve Resolution Number 2006-52 A Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of Approximately 39.624 Acres of Real Property, Located in the Loveland Park Subdivision; Authorizing the Township Administrator to Enter into a Contract to Purchase Said Property from the Loveland Park Association, Inc. and Lenville A. Smith for Forty-Nine Thousand Dollars ($49,000.00) Under the Terms and Conditions Specified in Attachment A; and Dispensing with the Second Reading. Motion carried unanimously.
Fiscal Officer – Kristin Spiekerman
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve the attendance of the Fiscal Officer, Kristin Spiekerman, to attend the OTA Summer Conference in Fairborn, OH from August 2 through August 4, 2006 at a cost not to exceed $435. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve a payment in the amount of $798,410.46 to be paid from the correct TIF account as determined by the Bank of New York to the Mason City School District for the first half TIF payment. Motion carried unanimously.
Community Development
Hayfaa Wadih, Planning Analyst, presented Case #2006-324 Stage 3, Final Site Plan Review, Woods at Wilkens.
Robb Olsen, 8704 Charleston Woods, spoke about the project.
Fred Gossman, with CD and Associates, responded to Mr. Olsen’s remarks.
Diana Halligan, 4071 Brookside Court, spoke about the project.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Case No. 2006-324 Stage 3, Final Site Plan Review, Woods at Wilkens. On roll call: Trustee Romano-yes, Trustee Corey-yes, Trustee Speidel-no. Motion carried.
Consent Agenda
Fire Department
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve Lt. Bob Hines attendance at the 2006 EMS Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 25 through September 29, 2006 at a cost of $1,535. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve mechanic John Hess attending the 2006 OAEVT Maintenance Symposium on September 25 through September 29, 2006 at the Ohio Fire Academy at a total cost of $930. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
