October 26 Work Session 2007
Trustee Romano called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Trustee Speidel was present. Also present were Kristin Spiekerman, the Fiscal Officer, Dan Evers, Administrator and Scott Phillips, Assistant Law Director.
Trustee Romano led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Warrants and Payments
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve Warrants #51355 through 514224. Motion carried.
Personnel New Hire – Community Development GIS Coordinator
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Speidel to approve the hiring of Jennifer Weisser as the GIS Coordinator effective November 5, 2007 at an annual salary of $38,000 ($18.27 per hour) plus PERS retirement pension pick-up and full insurance coverage contingent on successful completion of a background check and drug screen. Motion carried.
Trustee Romano welcomed Jennifer Weisser on behalf of the Board. Ms. Weisser spoke briefly on her background.
Consent Decree Modification – Hills Development
Dan Evers presented the Heritage Pointe PUD Proposed Revision to the Consent Decree.
Glen Brehm, Vice-President of Plain Development for Hills Development, spoke on the proposed revision.
Trustee Corey entered the meeting at this time.
Withdrawal of Hearing Request for Liquor Permit – Tommy’s Tavern
A motion by Trustee Speidel and second by Trustee Corey to withdraw its request for a hearing for the transfer of ownership application for Permit #8980104 for Tommy’s Tavern, 9956 Escort Drive, Deerfield Township and authorize the Fiscal Officer to sign the attached letter to the Ohio Division of Liquor Control withdrawing the request and canceling the hearing. Motion carried unanimously.
Greg Malone, representing property owners affected by the Fields Ertel Corridor Moratorium addressed the Board.
Dan Evers and Scott Phillips spoke on the final stages of the moratorium.
Executive Session
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to enter executive session to discuss pending and threatened litigation. Motion carried unanimously.
