Regular Meeting
March 27, 2008
Trustee Corey called the meeting to order at 5:28 p.m. Trustee Romano and Trustee Patterson was present. Also present were Kristin Spiekerman, Fiscal Officer, Dan Evers, Administrator and Tom Swope, Law Director.
Executive Session
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Patterson to enter executive session. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Patterson to return to regular session. Motion carried unanimously.
Trustee Romano led the Pledge of Allegiance.
2008 Budget Appropriation
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Resolution 2008-25 A Resolution Approving Permanent Appropriations for 2008, Dispensing with the Second Reading and Declaring an Emergency. Motion carried unanimously.
Purchase Orders, Super Blankets, Warrants and Payments
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Patterson to approve Purchase Order 08-11108. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to approve Warrants #52272 through 52293. Motion carried unanimously.
King Mansion Update
Beth Sullenbarger, Sullenbarger Associates, presented her Historic Structure Report of the Ahimaaz King House and Carriage House. Lois McKnight, Community Development Director, and Hayfaa Wadih, Urban Planning Analyst, participated in the discussion.
A motion by Trustee Romano and second by Trustee Corey to take a five minute break. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to return to regular session. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion by Trustee Corey and second by Trustee Romano to appoint Peggy Monjar to take minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Snyder House Rules and Policy
Joel Smiddy, Parks Director, presented updated Snyder House rules and township park rules. The Board discussed ORC guidelines, defining non-profit groups renting at a reduced rate, ADA issues, promoting the property and alcohol issues.
US 22&3 Sidewalk Funding
Joel Smiddy gave an update on the status of sidewalks on US 22&3. He reported that sidewalks on both sides of the highway will be 5 feet width. If the ODOT executive committee approves, the township is guaranteed 80% of estimated construction cost. Maintenance of the project was also discussed. A resolution will be presented on Tuesday.
