Selected business will receive reduced rent at Deerfield Towne Center and $1,000 grant

Deerfield Township – Deerfield Township announced today a partnership with Ramco Properties, with support from the Mason Deerfield Chamber and Warren County Small Business Alliance, for a pop-up retail store in the Deerfield Towne Center during the 2018 holiday shopping season.

The Deerfield Township Holiday Pop Shop seeks to assist prospective small business owners in the operation of a brick and mortar retail location for a limited time with a reduced level of risk.

The program is intended to help the selected applicant understand what it takes to make the transition from creator, farmer’s market vendor, or online store to a brick and mortar store.

“It is exciting to launch a program that seeks to help small business in Deerfield Township,” said Jim Flick, Director of Economic Development for Deerfield Township. “We want to give a local artist, maker, or entrepreneur an opportunity to thrive in what will be a bustling retail center during the holiday season.”

The selected applicant will occupy a space in the Deerfield Towne Center and will receive reduced rent from November 1st, 2018 – January 31st 2019. Additionally, Deerfield Township will assist applicants with a $1,000 grant that can be used to offset rent expenses or to purchase equipment, signage, products, or other materials they may need to operate their business during the 2018 Holiday Season.

Applications are due to Deerfield Township no later than 5:00 P.M. on Friday, October 5th, 2018.
