Kingswood Property Closed Due to Safety Concerns

March 9, 2017  |  deerfield, kingswood

On Tuesday, March 7, 2017, Deerfield Township acted on the recommendation of legal counsel to close the Kingswood property to non-construction personnel effective immediately.

The safety of the residents of Deerfield Township is our top priority. Access to this property is now restricted as a result of multiple safety concerns related to trespassing in active construction areas, as well as the potential liability issues that have resulted. We were hopeful we could keep a portion of the park open to visitors as roadway construction begins, but the repeated trespassing and damage to the property has necessitated the closure.

The Township is working with the Deerfield Farmer’s Market to find a temporary location, and is also coordinating with members of our community to find a new community garden site. New locations for both will be posted on the Township’s website no later than Friday, March 17, 2017.

We regret deeply having to take this action, but remain committed to ensuring the safety of our residents.
