Socialville Foster Road Bridge Project

The District 8 Office of the Ohio Department of Transportation sent out formal announcement today of the upcoming project that will have significant impact on area motorists.

District 8 noted that ODOT and the Warren County Engineer’s office partnered on the $6.4 million project, "to replace the Socialville-Foster Road Bridge over Interstate 71. The project, which began this month, will widen the bridge to five lanes with a sidewalk/bike bath. A two-lane roundabout at Innovation Way and traffic signal improvements at Columbia Road are also part of this project. Work is expected to be complete in late 2016," the notice said.

"On March 14, 2016 Socialville-Foster Road will be closed from Innovation Way to Columbia Road for approximately 40 weeks." The Warren County Engineer’s Office noted a detour to include Mason-Montgomery Road to Western Row Road to Columbia Road, and reverse.

The notice continued, This project will require driving piles in the ground to provide foundational support for the new bridge. The district noted that pile driving work can be quite loud, and at times even 'shaking' the earth in surrounding areas, so they anticipate most of the pile driving work to be done during daylight hours; however, they do not rule out evening work as needed. They noted that the anticipated driving of piles would begin around Wednesday, April 6th, if current timelines hold.
